Recently, information was received about a group engaged in poaching using poison in the Limpopo Park area. The group was initially reported to be in possession of two animal skins, which were unidentified at the time.
An investigation was initiated to verify the accuracy of this information. It was later determined that the hides were leopard skins, intended to be shipped to Massingir for delivery to another individual. During the operation, one individual was apprehended in Massingir, along with another person caught in the act.
Further investigation revealed that these individuals had been contacted by a third party to receive the shipment. One of the women involved was released, as she was not deemed to be part of the poaching network. The other woman remains in custody, and bail has been set.
