An alert was received about the sale of a small live pangolin in Nhamapaza, which had been brought from Mazamba and captured in Nhantsole within the Gorongosa National Park. The animal had been in the hands of poachers for two days.

In collaboration with ANAC and SERNIC, the two traffickers were apprehended. Unfortunately, the pangolin did not survive long enough for the rescue operation to commence.

This heartbreaking incident sheds light on the urgent need for stronger measures to combat the illegal wildlife trade and protect these endangered species.
